The unique design of the curb on this Stop & Turn applies severe pressure to the horse's lower chin for lots of whoa. The cheeks swivel allowing the rider to lead a horse off to the side better than the old fast stop or quick stop. The headstall attaches to the rope nose next to the shank and then the knots twist down to hold the headstall in place.

This is a replica of the headgear World Champion barrel racer Kristie Peterson used on Bozo. The shape of the shank and length of the nosepiece combine to create a sidepull hackamore that allows your horse to be comfortable enough to really run in, yet gives you enough control to rate and regulate the run. It helps correct a horse that is over bending, and is more for the finished horse than for training.

OK the term Tom Thumb just makes me cringe. BUT this bit is different! Its a transition but to go from the snaffle to the curb. The iron twist mouth is an excellent tool for softening up the tough or hard mouthed horse. This version has a center dogbone allowing it to break at a different angle for a new sensation. Sweet iron creates a sweet pleasant taste that most horses enjoy.

I love all of the lifter bits. They are great for getting control of the shoulder in a turn. The mouth piece is user preference. This is just a smooth mouth 2 piece snaffle.

I like this bit for colts. It works like a side pull but on the face instead of the nose. Works great to get the head around.

Wonderful for older colts, young horses or any soft mouthed horse. Contacts the nose
first to tuck it, then gently picks up the mouth until the curb tightens for gentle but all over "nose, bars, lips, chin and face" control.

Very popular gag shank. Cheek allows mouthpiece to move forward when you pull on the reins giving your horse time to think before the curb chain and mouthpiece tighten. Mouthpiece conforms better to the mouth and tongue than any other. Excellent choice for horses that don't like a mouthpiece. Also good for horses with natural rate that only need a little help.

In the beginning, I had a great idea. I wanted to create a blog for each bit so that folks can offer their comments on how the bit worked for them. This is sort of a personal goal of mine. I want you guys to be able to rent the bit that will work for your horse. I want you to come back and tell us how it worked. I want this to become a source of education on bits!
